Picture book review : As Quiet As A Mouse - Karen Owen

We've recently been enjoying reading As Quiet As A Mouse by Karen Owen, one of Maverick's latest picture books. It features a very cute elephant caled Edgar who just can't help being noisy - sounds like certain little people that I could mention !

Edgar loves his baby sister and accidentally keeps waking her up, so his mouse friend Ruby decides to help teach him to be quieter by enrolling him in Mouse School !

The beautifully vibrant illustrations, courtesy of Evgenia Golubeva, and very simple texts are perfect for young children or beginner readers and Pierre also loved counting all the mice in the pictures.

It's a really heartwarming and entertaining story that promotes the values of friendship and perseverance. I also love the fact that I can usually convince Pierre to play at being as quiet as a mouse for a while after reading it, which gives me some welcome peace and quiet !!
