Sunday weigh-in : A slight anticlimax

Last week I lost 1kg which was really motivating. This week, I did everything the same - ate well, went out for a run on Sunday afternoon (with Pierre and Sophie which was great), carried on with the XLS and the Slimpod, but I just didn't get the same results. Midweek, my weight had gone back up by the kilo I'd lost, so I was actually quite pleased to see that today I was back to exactly the same weight as last week. I hope next week I'll get another loss though because I feel like I deserve it for all the effort I'm putting in !

Positives of the week

- The kids have got well into the running thing, which is great for motivation and also for getting them active too

- I'm still in the 87's - phew !

Current targets

Last week's target : Stay in the 87's - aim for mini target 4. Get back on the wii fit and try to get in one long walk or a run. (close enough)

This week's targets : Manic week at work with parent-teacher evenings so just do my best - aim for a no change.

Short-term targets

(1) get back into the 80's
(2) get my "lbs lost" back into double figures
(3)  get my "weight to lose" badge down into the 40's
 (4)  get back to 87kg, my pre-holiday weight
(5) get my "kg lost" badge back into double figures
(6) get my "weight loss" badge higher than my "still to go" badge
(7) get back into my (smallest) bright blue jeans comfortably
(8) get back to 77kg - my lowest weight since my pregnancies

Longer-term targets :  Hit my target weight of 70kg.

START WEIGHT :93.7kg (BMI 34.8)
TARGET WEIGHT : 70kg (BMI 26)
WEIGHT LAST WEEK  : 87.8kg (BMI 32.6)
WEIGHT TODAY : 87.8kg (BMI 32.6)
WEIGHT LOST SO FAR :  5.9kg
STILL TO GO : 17.7kg
CHANGE THIS WEEK : -0kg

Feel free to add your weightloss posts to my weekly linkie - it's great to see how everyone else has been getting on and give each other support and encouragement. You can even grab the linkie code and add it to your own blog if you like. :)

  1. It can be a little disheartening to maintain - but trust me, even maintaining is hard work in itself! Your body is still adjusting and it is so lovely that you are going out on a family run... that is awesome! The scales may not have moved this week but you may notice a difference in how your clothes are feeling on you. You can do it love and am behind you this week for an epic loss next week! 2. Instead of looking at the scales look at how your clothes are fitting and how you are feeling. Thank you for sharing with #Slimmerseeker

  3. I think it's important to remember (not just you, but me too!) that the number on the scales doesn't always accurately reflect the health of our bodies. You're doing the right things, eating right and exercising, that's great, but please don't get too hung up on the number on the scales. Your body will be so grateful for the good, healthy food and the endorphines. You may well be losing inches or your body could just be holding water or something that is making it look like you haven't lost. (I'm no expert by the way!)
Hope next week your efforts do appear on the scales though!

    1. That is all perfectly true and all things that I say to other people, then forget it when it comes to myself ! :)

  4. It is a bit of a downer when it happens. I just saw a defintion on FB the other day of an Optimist: Someone who figures that taking a step backward after taking a step forward is not a disaster, it's a cha-cha. I rather like this comparison.

  6. Well done on maintaining Cheryl, you're probably burning fat and building muscle running. Glad to see you're still going with your weight loss, I pretty much gave up last year but have just rejoined SW this week, so I'll be stalking you for motivation again ;-) x

  7. Hi Cheryl - you are just what the weight loss community needs - someone who blogs very honestly so we can all find inspiration when the same thing happens to us (and it does!!) but just like the others say you will probably really notice a difference next week on the scales so don't feel bad :) Plus you are inspiring your family and THAT is a great positive change this week so very many congratulations - well done you! 1. That's very true - I was really surprised when they wanted to come along. I think it's for the novelty value at the moment ! lol. As for being honest, I always like to tell it the way it is - whether that's reviews, weight loss or kitchen fails, I share them all, warts and all ! I never take myself too seriously ! lol xx

  8. Sometimes the result we et just feels so unfair when we now we have been trying to hard but you just have to stick to logic and remember if you carry on being good, you can't fail to lose weight. Hope it has been a fab week fro you Cheryl. Mich x
