Madhouse recipe : White Chocolate & Marshmallow Nests

Every year, straight after Easter, it seems like almost every foodie blogger in the entire world is sharing their ways of using up leftover chocolate. Well, we don"t even think that's a real thing here at The Madhouse, but we did have some leftover Shredded Wheat that have been lingering in the back of the cupboard for ages, so I decided to use them up in the traditional way, making Easter nests. I went for white chocolate and marshmallows as a change this year.

White Chocolate & Marshmallow Nests

ingredients :

6-8 Shredded Wheat
2 bars of white chocolate
a couple of handfuls of marshmallows
50g butter
a squirt of golden syrup
mini eggs to decorate

Crumble the Shredded Wheat in a bowl. Aim for mainly crushed with a few twiglike pieces for texture.

Break the chocolate into a bowl, add the marshmallows, butter and golden syrup then zap in the microwave for a couple of minutes until it's all gooey and melted.

Pour into the Shredded Wheat and give it all a good stir.

Scoop into 6-8 piles. Wait for it to cool then press it firmly into nest shapes with your hands.

Put in the fridge to set for 20 minutes then garnish with mini eggs.

This used up some Shredded Wheat that were taking up space in the cupboard so I'm adding it to the #KitchenClearout linky.

  1. They look absolutely divine and super easy to make with children too - something everything can be involved with! :)
