Kids' dvd review : Norm of the North

There's a brand new family-friendly movie about to hit the shelves just in time for the kids' long summer holiday, Norm of the North.

Norm is a cheeky polar bear who has the rare gift of being able to talk with humans. When his beloved Arctic homeland risks being overrun by property developers, he sets off on a quest to New York City to save the day - there's nothing amazingly groundbreaking in the plot but it has an important message in there about looking after the planet.

What makes the film so appealing is the character of Norm, who's an all-round good guy, and his lemming friends, who reminded us of the Minions and who had the Madhouse kids in hysterics with their low-brow toilet humour and crazy antics. Grown-ups will have fun trying to work out which A-listers have lent their voices to the animated characters - you might recognise Rob Schneider, James Corden, Heather Graham, Bill Nighy and Colm Meaney.

Perfect for a pyjama day to kick off the holidays so grab a bowl of popcorn and settle down on the sofa for some family fun.

NORM OF THE NORTH is available on Digital Download from 11th July 2016 and DVD & Blu-ray from 18th July 2016
