Giant Gazillion Super Sized Bubble Fun Giant Power Wand review

The first signs of spring have been spotted - catkins, pussy willow, sticky buds and even the first brave daffodil and crocus flowers - so the Madhouse kids' thoughts are turning to outdoor play and toys. They were therefore delighted to receive a Giant Power Wand to review from Gazillion.

Inside the pack, you get a hand-held bubble machine that looks like a souped-up water pistol, along with a tray and a small 8oz bottle of bubble mixture, specially designed with a superior formula to create bigger and better bubbles.

The first job is finding 2 x AA batteries and a Philips screwdriver to insert the batteries into the handle. I've got a bit spoilt by the large number of manufacturers who now include batteries in their toys, so I always think it's a shame when that isn't the case now.

First up was Pierre, who had some degree of success - probably a 1 in 10 success rate for creating a bubble.

You may have noticed that in between the two photos of Pierre, he went and put his coat on. Juliette leapt into the breach and took her turn, and she instantly seemed to have the knack.

I'd say she had about a 75% success rate and her bubbles just kept getting bigger and bigger !

My job behind the camera was no easier though - I had to snap the shutter at exactly the right instant when the bubble was a decent size but before it popped !

They had great fun and played for the entire time I was cooking lunch. The squeals and laughs and whoops of joy continued until they'd run out of bubble mixture !

My only very slight niggle is the name - to me, the word Gazillion suggests that you will manage to create large numbers of bubbles. This is reinforced by the picture on the box, but in our experience, you can only create one large bubble at a time. However, if you want quantity rather than quality, I suggest heading over to check out our review for another of their products, the Gazillion Tornado Mega Bubble Blower, which did produce masses of bubbles. You'll have to choose if size does matter and whether less is more !

Gazillion Bubbles are premium bubbles and are available in both original and big bubble solution, with refills in 8oz, 2L and 4L bottles. I think I might have to invest in one of the big bottles to see us through the warmer months !

The Gazillion Giant Power Wand has an RRP of £12.99 and is available at Argos Online.

Disclosure : We received the product in order to write an honest review.
