Cadbury Christmas 2017 range review

I have a bit of an unwritten rule here at The Madhouse that we don't start thinking about Christmas until Halloween is out of the way. Well, the cobwebs and fake blood have been put away for another year, so that means ... the Christmas countdown has well and truly begun ! To kick things off in style, we've been taking a look at some of the Cadbury's festive range for 2017.

Back when I was a child, I remember that we were happy enough to open each day on the advent calendar to find a little festive picture behind the window. These days, it has to be chocolate all the way - do they even make them with just pictures now ?! The jolly Santa design with the unmistakable Cadbury's purple as a background on this Cadbury Dairy Milk Advent Calendar (RRP £2.19) would look great on the shelf in the run up to Christmas. (Probably next to the Elf on the Shelf - we still haven't got one of those. Maybe I'll buy one - umm I mean ask one to move in - this year !) On the back of the pack, you can cut out a door hanger and Santa's delivery spot sign for extra Christmas Eve excitement. This is the basic 90g model, but there is also a bigger 200g version available (RRP £4.99) or a super duper, new for 2017,  Cadbury Heroes Advent Calendar (RRP £4.99).

I think someone has had a word with the people at Cadbury to remind them of how many members are in the Madhouse Family, because everything seems to come in packs of five this year - great news for us !  Hiding inside the festive Dairy Milk Buttons box (RRP £1.42) are five mini bags of the yummy treats. Perfect for munching or for using as the gifts inside homemade crackers. You also get a free child entry (with full paying adult) to Cadbury World on the box.

We love the funky 5 Jolly Santas  (RRP £2.99) - forget the man in red and bring on the men in purple ! Which one will you pick first? Santa in shades with a snowboard, skiing Santa or the more traditional Santa with a Christmas pud? In total, there are now seven cheerful looks to be discovered. Kids will surely love them!

You can't have Easter without Mini Eggs and you can't have Christmas without their Yuletide cousin, Cadbury Snow Bites (RRP £1.15). The delicious milk chocolate balls are encased in crisp sugar shells dusted with icing sugar. Delicious popped straight in your mouth, added on top of cupcakes or piled up on top of your festive cake to turn it into a seasonal showstopper.

Also new for 2017, deck the halls with boughs of Oreos ! The Mixed Tree Decorations include a  ‘Now with Oreo’ pack (RRP £3.46).

It contains 14 decorations to tie on the tree, including new Oreo discs with biscuit and vanilla creme pieces. You could even buy a couple of packs of these and use them in place of an advent calendar, munching one per day in the run up to Christmas - yum !

The back of the pack invites you to share your tree ideas on social media. Go on, admit it - you're starting to feel a little bit Christmassy now, aren't you ?!
