What's Cooking At The Madhouse ? menu plan week 11

Well, we made it through the week - phew ! - and I stuck pretty much to the menu plan, just swapping the days around a bit when I got home from work too late or too tired (or both !) to do what was originally planned. This week should hopefully be a bit quieter (but I need to start filling in all the end of term reports which will keep me busy at home - aaghhhh !). Here's what's on the menu this week. Some old favourites and a few new recipes to try out.

Sunday

lunch- roast gammon, roast potatoes, veggies & gravy

dinner- chicken soup

Monday

dinner- I'm thinking there may well be leftovers from yesterday to use up,  unless the kids ate them all for lunch (which wouldn't surprise me !) - so just in case, spaghetti bolognese

Tuesday

dinner- I grabbed some veal escalopes from the reduced section at the supermarket so what can I do with them? This sounds good : Veal escalope with garlic cream mushrooms, with rice and carrots

Wednesday

lunch- cauliflower cheese - a special request from Juliette, but I know Pierre doesn't like it, so … baked potatoes with sausages on the side (I'm reckoning Juliette will combine all of that on one plate !)

dinner- Spanish chicken with pasta and leftover cauliflower cheese

Thursday

dinner- Cheeseburger rice, based on this dish

Friday

lunch- I'm thinking there will be leftovers to use up

dinner - beef meatballs with pasta and tomato sauce (or I may go Moroccan and cook them up with onions, mushrooms and peppers then serve them with couscous - I'll see how we feel)

Saturday

lunch- Probably McDonalds as usual.

dinner- pepperoni pizza

Sunday

lunch- chicken gyros with rice and veggies

dinner- sausage sandwiches (or bacon sandwiches - the kids can choose)

  1. I am glad you are looking forward to a quieter week.
All of your meals sound so good. The Cheeseburger Rice sounds interesting. It looks like something my two would love. x

    1. It sounds a bit different, but not so different that Pierre will turn his nose up at it ! lol

  2. I haven't heard of cheeseburger rice, but as Eddie loves a cheeseburger pizza, I wonder if he would like to try it. I could use a vegetarian mince, so that my DH could eat it as well.
Hope you have a more restful week!
