I didn't do a menu plan last week as it was the first week of the school holidays and we had a day out in Lille followed by a day trip to London, so I just used up what was in the cupboards and fridge. London was cool - we managed to fit in Madame Tussaud's, followed by sightseeing (Big Ben, Horse Guards, Buckingham Palace, Trafalgar Square, Piccadilly Circus, including the Hard Rock Café), some shopping (Oxford Street and Regents Street, including the big Nike store in Oxford Circus where all the lights suddenly went out and we all had to be evacuated down the emergency exit by the lights on people's phones - the store manager said she had no idea what was going on and it was the first time it had ever happened) and some final shopping at Camden (where every second store was stuffed full of Harry Styles merch - cost me a fortune !). Once we got back to Dunkirk, we totally dejunked and cleared out Pierre's room which is about to be transformed into Juliette's room as Pierre has taken over her bigger room since she moved to Lille to study. It all got pretty trashed with the leaky roof so she has a new bed arriving next week to replace the old mouldy one, plus she'll be tarting up the paintwork and putting her own stamp on it. She has a couple of exams left then she's on summer break (already !!) so she can deal with that now the bulk of the clearing is done. We have another week off to chill which will be lovely, plus Pierre has his appointment at the orthodontist to get his braces sorted out on Monday. Here's what is on the menu for this week.

lunch- fricadelles (sausages), chips and peas
dinner- meatloaf with mash, peas and carrots
Thursday
lunch- pasta bolognese
dinner- chicken casserole with baby potatoes and carrots
Friday
lunch- chicken cordon bleu with garlic & herb wedges
dinner - sausage casserole with rice
Saturday
lunch- Deliveroo or kebabs
dinner- sweet & sour chicken & veg with rice
Sunday
lunch- spicy Moroccan meatballs & chickpeas with couscous
dinner - beefburgers with baked potatoes & coleslaw
