Boots Coconut & Almond Lip Balm review

I've been having great fun over the past couple of weeks discovering all the lovely beauty goodies in the Holiday Hotlist suitcase (see here) that Boots kindly sent us to use on our upcoming holiday to Turkey. (Which is where I actually am as you read this post - I'm chilling by the pool as you read my scheduled blog posts. Organised, huh?!)

The latest product to try out was Boots Coconut & Almond Lip Balm. As soon as I twisted off the lid and had a sniff, it totally reminded me of Malibu (the coconut liqueur, not the beach !). I could happily sniff it all day as an instant mood-lifter !

The texture is very soft so it is really easy to smear over your lips and gives them a glossy look. It is quite greasy so if you've got long hair, it will probably stick to your lips ! I prefer to use these kinds of lip balms overnight like a night cream for lips because you wake up in the morning with wonderfully soft, moisturised lips.

I had a quick look at the ingredients – the main ones are petrolatum, paraffin and paraffinum liquidum. There are also some that I have never heard of, both natural-sounding ones (such as Cera microcristallina) and not-so-natural (benzyl benzoate, BHT, …). I love the addition of Cocos nucifera (coconut) oil and prunus amygdalus (sweet almond) oil.
The little pot is perfect for keeping in your pocket or handbag to keep your lips moisturised in the summer heat but also protected from the drying wind and cold long after your tan has faded.
