This is a lovely campaign from Vintage Inn, who are searching for the nation’s hidden attractions. They’re
aiming to go off the beaten tourist track and find some really quirky
spots, traditions and customs and would love your help in highlighting the very best that Britain has to
offer. You can nominate your British gems until the end of the month and the winning entry will be awarded a meal for two every month for a year.

PUB GROUP SEEKS NATION’S HIDDEN TREASURES
A nationwide search for Britain’s hidden attractions has been launched by the Vintage Inns group of country pubs.
The Vintage Guide to Britain aims to unearth the little-known but much-loved beauty
spots, local customs, dishes and must-see sites from throughout the
nation. Vintage Inns is inviting people to submit their hidden treasures, which will be collected on the group’s Facebook page and website.

O’Neill, Head of Brand Marketing at Vintage Inns, said: “With the
Olympics on the horizon and the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee just gone, it
seems the entire nation is celebrating the best of Britain. We are as
excited about these momentous events as anyone, but at the same time we
wanted to highlight some of the quirky, out-of-the-way but adored
attractions that make Britain such a unique and wonderful place.
“Whether
it’s an ancient local tradition, fantastically idiosyncratic little
shop, a long-abandoned yet beautiful Victorian folly or a walk that
takes your breath away in more ways than one, we want to hear about it.”
The submissions will be used to create the Vintage Guide to Britain, which will take the form of an interactive map, offering users a valuable resource when planning days out.
“My own submission would be a place on the coast near Croyde in Devon – a spot overlooking the sea called Baggy Point,” Clair added. “It’s a wonderful walk up a cliff-side path and at the top there is a lookout post you can climb for incredible ocean views as sheep mill about you below. It’s simple, special and somehow incredibly British.”

The top 10 submissions will go to a vote among the Facebook community and the winning entry will be awarded a grand prize a meal for two every month for a year.

Inn pubs and restaurants are known for their welcoming atmosphere,
great food, fantastic beer gardens and real ales and are often set in
stunning locations, in picturesque villages or rolling countryside.
Vintage Inns has almost 200 pubs, from Plymouth in the South West to Inverness in Scotland.
