Num Noms Series 2 are here ! (review)

Earlier this year, the latest kids' toy craze on the market, Num Noms, caused frenzy with the introduction of series one of the delicious, stackable and totally wacky collectibles. Now, I have to admit, I'd heard of Num Noms but I didn't really know anything about them at all. Luckily Juliette did, and she explained it all to me - Nums are the outer soft, squishy, hollow characters that nestle on top of Noms, which are either fun scented stamps (called Stamp-Its), motorised (Go-Gos), lovely lip glosses (Gloss-Ups) or a cute eraser (called Erase-Its). I love the fact that they are as functional as they are funky, actually having a purpose besides looking pretty on the bedroom shelf, like so many other pocket money collectibles.

There are over 5,000 mix and match combinations and things are about to get even more wild and wacky because whereas series one focused on sweet treats, series two brings in savoury flavours inspired by brunch dishes, such as Becca Bacon, pizza flavours including Mozza Rella, sophisticated sushi snacks and yummy diner foods. There are also even more tasty sweet flavours inspired by fairground foods, freezie pops, cupcakes and ice creams. Children can play chef and create wacky combos, such as blueberry and banana pancake  - yum - or wasabi ice cream - yuck !

We received a Freezie Pops Family pack, as well a couple of mystery blind packs, to start off our collection. Each Num Nom Mystery Blind Pack (RRP £2.99) contains a Num and a surprise flavoured lip-gloss or stamper Nom, in a super cool yoghurt styled mystery pot. You also get a Collector's Menu and,  if you get lucky, you might get a special edition character.

A Num Noms Deluxe Pack (RRP £14.99) includes six Nums, two motorised Noms, plus a food container, accessory and collector’s menu. In addition there’s a mystery Num in each pack.

You can also buy Num Noms Starter Packs (RRP £8.99) which contain three Nums and one motorised Nom, plus a container, accessory, and collector’s menu.

The summer holiday hasn't even started yet so it's far too early to start thinking about Christmas, but these will make ideal stocking fillers when the time comes. The pocket money prices make them ideal for young children to spend their pennies on, but the fact that they are practical as well as collectible would also make them appeal to slightly older tweens and teens.

Num Noms Series 2 is for children aged 3+ and will be available at all good toy retailers from July 2016. For more information, visit www.numnoms.com

Disclosure : We received the products in order to write an honest review.
