Herbal Aloe Gold Ear Drops

Aloe Vera is big news these days. Just on this humble blog, I've reviewed toothgel, sinex soother spray, herbal baby wipes, sun cream, lip balm, hand sanitizer, toddlers' hand wash and skin shielding lotion, that all contain aloe vera. Phew ! It seems like it's being added to just about everything these days ! Well, now I can add another product to that list : Higher Nature Herbal Aloe Gold Ear Drops.

According to the website, the drops are good to "keep on hand for those with colds and allergies. Safe for any age. Especially suitable for wearers of hearing aids and those who swim frequently, particularly children". Sure enough, 5-year-old Juliette came in from school last week crying, saying that her ear was hurting. I offered to drip a few drops of these eardrops in her ear and, a little while later, she was all smiles again and her ear had stopped hurting. I have no idea if the drops worked or if it was a purely placebo effect but either way, they sorted her out !

The drops contain a blend of herbal extracts - Whole leaf aloe barbadensis (aloe vera) juice, calendula officinalis (marigold) herbal extract, verbascum thapsus (mullein) herbal extract, hypericum perforatum (st john wort) herbal extract, rosmarinus officinalis (rosemary) herbal extract. That's it - no other unnecessary additives or nasty chemicals.

They are designed to soothe and gently cleanse so, while they probably won't be much good for a full-scale ear infection, they are a good thing to have in the cupboard to help soothe the little earaches that kids commonly suffer from.

The little dropper makes it very easy to drip a few drops into the ear and Juliette had no complaints about it feeling yucky.
