Arm & Hammer My Way! Kids Spinbrush review

*** Don't miss your chance to win some Spinbrushes right here on my blog ! ***

When Arm & Hammer offered to send through some funky new toothbrushes for the kids (and the grown-ups, but more about those in another review !), I was really keen to see what would arrive. I always make sure that the kids brush their teeth first thing in the morning and last thing at night but, with 6-year-old Juliette, it takes a lot of nagging and even then, she's finished before she's hardly started. Luckily, every time we go to the dentist's, he tells them they've both got Princess Teeth but even so, I want to instill good habits in them now.

Well, as soon as I laid eyes on the My Way! Spinbrushes, I knew we were on to a winner. Each brush comes with 141 stickers allowing you to totally personalise your brush and I knew the girls would love getting creative.

I was surprised to see, though, that that wasn't the thing that instantly appealed to the girls. Before they'd peeled off a single sticker, they were already giggling and brushing their teeth with the spinning brushes ! They have both obviously seen various adverts on TV because they wouldn't stop telling me how electric toothbrushes get your teeth much cleaner than normal ones and remove more plaque ! After several minutes of brushing, they came running up to me, saying "Look how clean my teeth are Mummy !".

Nevertheless, as soon as they'd finished experimenting, they immediately set to customising their toothbrushes with the funky stickers. The first thing they both wanted to do was add their name, which I also thought was a very good idea as they're both identical otherwise.

After I took this photo, Juliette actually sat down for half an hour and stuck every single sticker on her brush - yes, she really did manage to fit all 141 on there and was very proud of her psychedelic-looking creation !

Then, despite the fact that they'd just brushed their teeth, they decided that it was time to give them another go now that they were all decorated ! And to think I usually have to keep telling Juliette to go and brush her teeth ! I even pointed this out to her and she giggled and said she'd brush her teeth every morning and every night from now on without me saying a word to her !

This is exactly what the manufacturers have aimed for. Arm & Hammer ambassador, Dr James Goolnik, said: “As a dentist, I know the importance of establishing a good oral hygiene regime from a young age, but as a parent I appreciate that children can sometimes require a great deal of persuasion to clean their teeth. The Arm & Hammer My Way! Spinbrush is a great product for parents as it appeals to children’s sense of fun, and allows kids to associate their twice-daily brush with enjoyment and playfulness. Not only does the My Way! Spinbrush ensure young teeth are given a thorough clean for healthy teeth and gums, it can also give parents a helping hand by making the all-too-often bathroom battles hassle-free.”

Studies have shown that kids brush up to 38 percent longer with the Arm & Hammer My Way! Spinbrush . If Sophie and Juliette are anything to go by, I'd say it's even more than that.

  3. It's nice to see that they enjoyed brushing their teeth with that tooth brush. I can understand the feeling of instilling good brushing habits to kids, since I have a similar case with my son. But with this kind of toothbrush, it'll be easier for us parents to do it.
