BabySafe : what to do if a baby or toddler is choking


Last year 15,000 under-five’s were admitted to A&E because of choking* Would you know what to do if you were involved in a situation with a choking baby or toddler? Well, watch the video below and you soon will !


Tesco Baby & Toddler Club are currently running its BabySafe campaign – an initiative to offer free, basic first aid training to parents, grandparents and carers via a series of short videos, Twitter chats.

  1. I am lucky enough to have done basic first aid through my work. Even when my son managed to fall down the stairs (this one should be in the Potty list) I could stay calm as the training of what to do and what to look for just kicked in. I would recommend it to everyone.

  2. Thankyou very much for this very informative post! I've done first aid training through work as a carer but it is different when dealing with small children and babies. Its brilliant that you are raising awareness for parents that they can do something in this situation not just wait for the ambulance when it may be too late. Excellent post!
