Live Below The Line campaign - May 7th - 11th - will you be getting involved ?

I've just signed up for an intriguing campaign with Bzz Agent to investigate the Live Below The Line campaign. They explain : "Live Below the Line is a campaign that challenges individuals and communities to eat and drink on £1 per day for 5 days. By exposing participants to a glimpse of some the daily difficulties experienced by the 1.4 billion people living in extreme poverty every day, for everything, the campaign provides a unique window into understanding the realities of life for so many. Through the insights gained over the 5 days, Live Below the Line is assembling a movement of people passionate about making a difference in the lives of those who desperately need it. Through partnerships with various charities, the campaign raises both awareness and fundraising."

Bzz Agent want people to spread the word and do say that you're not obliged to take part in the five-day challenge and I must admit, I'm slightly reticent - not for me but for the kids. I was thinking of things that we could eat for well under a quid and I've thought of some bargain basement meals already - value beans on toast, mashed potatoes (actually, better make that plain boiled potatoes - won't have enough for milk and butter) with a slice of ham, veggie curry, pasta with sweetcorn, the "reduced for quick sale" aisle of the supermarket may throw up a few bargains too and Lidl and Aldi will be worth a look. The Live Below The Line campaign webpage also has a recipe book that you can download to help inspire you and stay within your daily budget.

So what about you ? Will you be getting involved ? If you want to give it a go, you need to head to the Live Below The Line website and choose the UK partner you're hoping to raise funds for (including UNICEF, Salvation Army, Christian Aid, Malaria No More, etc). Put Bzz Agent in the "network" box so that you can compare yourself to other participating BzzAgents.

    1. Per person. They suggest that by clubbing together with others, you can make your £1 go further. Lots of advice and info on the website.
