Vosene new-look products review and VoSing Live event tomorrow

We got a lovely surprise through the post recently when Vosene sent us through a package containing some of their new-look products. I love the tear-shaped bottles and funky coloured packaging which really brightens up the bathroom. But the most important thing is the contents, not the bottles, so we've been trying them all out.

First up was the yellow bottle - new Citrus Refresh - which promises refreshingly effective cleansing for greasy hair and scalp. Well, nobody in The Madhouse has really got greasy hair so I was worried it would leave our hair feeling stripped of its natural oils and dried out. My concerns were unfounded though because it lathered up with a creamy mousse that looked just like my normal nourishing shampoo for dry hair. The packaging says that the pH balanced, dermatologically tested formula contains Zinc Pyrithione to help fight dandruff when used regularly. We loved the fresh fragrance and the bright yellow bottle that automatically puts you in a good mood when you wash your hair !

Next up was the blue bottle, containing the Frequent Anti-Dandruff Shampoo for daily use and ideally suited for sensitive scalps. This isn't a new product but the formula has been improved so that it is kinder than ever to your scalp. Like the yellow bottle, it’s pH balanced, dermatologically tested, and contains Zinc Pyrithione to help fight dandruff when used regularly. To be honest, apart from the colour of the bottle, we couldn't see much difference between the two products ! It has a different but equally fresh fragrance and the same creamy lather that cleanses hair gently without creating tangles.

The final product we tested was the green bottle, containing the Original Medicated Shampoo for Dandruff Prevention. It has a new look bottle but that's the only new thing about this one because the formula hasn't been changed at all. The label mentions a different active ingredient on this one - Salicylic Acid, which helps prevent dandruff when used regularly. The kids didn't like the colour or smell of this one but I actually thought it smelt nicer than the rather unpleasant fragrance I remembered medicated shampoos as having. It's suitable for all hair types - I used it with a conditioner and my hair felt just as good as it does when using shampoo and conditioner for dry hair - and promises to be efficient from the very first use. Unfortunately (or fortunately for me !), I didn't have dandruff to begin with so I couldn't test this aspect.

Vosene also sent us this rather intriguing package containing a funky green rubber duckie and a shower radio, whose shape reminds me of the new-look shampoo bottles. Well, it's all about their VoSing Live Event which will be happening tomorrow.

They explain : "At last, we can announce that Duncan James is the special celebrity guest who'll be joining us on 3rd July. For one day only, he'll be singing his heart out for our VoSing LIVE event. And if you're lucky, he'll sing a personalised song especially for you! If you'd like to have the chance to hear Duncan singing for you, simply tweet us @VoseneUK and tell us about something significant or exciting that’s happened or about to happen to you. Maybe your son's tooth fell out or perhaps it's your birthday... whatever it is, make sure you include the hashtag #VoSing. Tweets will be picked at random, then Duncan will sing about whatever it is you're celebrating!"

"And it’s all for a good cause. From now until 3rd July, we’re aiming to raise £10,000 for the NSPCC by donating £2 for every person who follows us @VoseneUK and tweets us using #VoSing.

Don’t worry if you already follow @VoseneUK as we’ll still donate £2 if you tweet us using #VoSing."

What are you still doing here ? Get off my blog and go and tweet #VoSing @VoseneUK! You can do your bit for charity and it will only "cost" you one little tweet !
