Grafix 3D Superhero Puzzle review

The lovely people at Grafix recently got in touch and offered to send through some products that would be suited to the ages of the Madhouse Mini-Testers. When I spotted that one of them would be a 3D puzzle, I scratched my head and wondered how that would work. Well, when it arrived, we discovered that it is a normal puzzle with some stand-up cutouts and a box which opens up to become a background - cunning !

The suggested age range is 3+ so this was supposed to be the toy tested by Pierre but he was busy painting the Harry the Hapless Ghost puppet theatre with Sophie so Juliette asked if she could do it instead. She immediately set to work on the 2D puzzle. It contains 45 large pieces so didn't take her long at all.

Four of the pieces have slots in which allow you to stand up the Superhero character cards. A word of warning, Juliette bent the corner of one of the puzzle pieces trying to push out the little piece of cardboard to make the slot so you'd be wise to remove them with a pair of scissors or a knife before you start.

The puzzle box is easy to dismantle and stand up around two sides of the puzzle, creating a backdrop for the scene. Juliette was very impressed. I wasn't sure how easy it would be to put the box back together when it was time to put the puzzle away but it was actually very simple.

If you have a little puzzle fan in your midst, he or she will love the extra dimension offered by the stand-up characters and the background.
