Shloer Berry Punch review

Cracking opening a bottle of Shloer is always a cause for celebration here at The Madhouse. It always seems more grown up and special than regular fizzy drinks and it also goes with special events like Christmas and New Year, especially for the years I was pregnant and couldn't drink real fizz. We were therefore very pleased to receive a bottle of their limited edition Berry Punch flavour to try out.

This lovely ruby-red variety is a perfectly autumnal blend of grape and blackberry flavours. The ingredients list, as always, is free from artificial flavours, colours, sweeteners or preservatives : Carbonated Water, Grape Juices from concentrate (25%), Glucose-fructose Syrup, Malic Acid, Flavourings, Colour (concentrate from fruit and vegetables), Citric Acid, Antioxidant: Ascorbic Acid. Nothing dodgy-looking at all.

The sweetness was a big hit with the Madhouse Mini-Testers but the natural flavour also appealed to the grown-ups. It's lightly carbonated rather than being horribly fizzy. 100ml contains 40.3 calories and 9.9g of carbohydrates.

If you're looking for a non-alcoholic party drink for Bonfire Night, Christmas and New Year, it's ideal, either served as it is straight from the fridge or over sliced fruit as an alcohol-free fruit punch.
