IKEA soft toys review

A few weeks ago, I told you about IKEA's Soft Toy Campaign (click through for more details), where every soft toy, children’s book and kids meal purchased between October 24th and December 23rd generates a donation of €1 to UNICEF and Save the Children to support children’s education programmes throughout the world. IKEA recently sent us through a selection of the toys, so we could see what we thought of them.

Pierre instantly opted for the Magician Bunny, possibly because he is the biggest one of the bunch or possibly because he's lovely and soft. Either way, I love the fact that he's a bit different and out-of-the-ordinary, so he'll stand out, however many soft toys your kids already own. I was actually very impressed with the price - it only costs £4, so it would make a fabulous stocking filler.

Juliette plumped for the utterly strokeable velvety rabbit - oh actually it's a hare, I've just noticed that it's called the Vandring Hare. She loves its long legs - so much so that it's ended up wearing the rather funky legwarmers that we reviewed a couple of weeks ago !

The toys are lovely and really good quality for such a low price - the rabbit costs a very reasonable £5. In the same series, there is a Vandring Hedgehog (with a bargain basement £2 price tag) which also features in a book, so buying the two together would make a lovely gift idea.

The only one slight niggle I have is that they have an incredibly long label with washing instructions on it which should be cut off before giving it to a small child because it could be dangerous. Once that's taken off though, you're just left with a lovely snuggly soft toy at a price that's easy on the pocket.

star rating : 4.5/5

RRP : from £2-£5

Disclosure : I received a selection of soft toys from IKEA in order to write an honest review.
