Chedds Shapes and Towers review

Older generations of parents used to tell their kids not to play with their food but these days, the trend has pretty much reversed. Child food experts such as Annabel Karmel go out of their way to make food look fun and appealing and baby led weaning encourages toddlers to get hands-on with their food. We love "playing with our food" at The Madhouse and creating fun platefuls that often have the Madhouse Mini-testers gobbling up their 5-a-day in delight without even realising ! Chedds, the kids' snacking brand from Cathedral Cheddar, has jumped on board with two of its products, Chedds Shapes and Chedd Towers.

Chedds Towers are individually wrapped pieces of Cathedral City Cheddar in 12g portions - they're ideal for lunchboxes, picnics and mess-free snacks on the go.

The really fun ones are the Chedds Shapes though. They remind me a bit of edible Fuzzy Felt ! The packaging gives you a few ideas but you can let your and your kids' imaginations run wild and see what creations you can come up with before you gobble them all up ! These would be great as kids party food as it would calm them all down as they all tried to come up with the best picture, then they'd eat all the mess so there'd be no tidying up !

Chedds have come up with some fabulous recipes using their Shapes and Towers which will be ideal for keeping the kids amused during the holidays. Keep an eye on the blog over the next few days and I'll share them with you. (There's just too much going on at The Madhouse at the moment - I can't keep up with blogging about it all !)

star rating : 4.5/5

RRP : Towers £2 for 9 x 12g; Shapes £1.99 for 5 x 16g
