Giveaway #309 : Win 'Run' on DVD - closed - winner Agata Pokutycka

Hands up if you watched Run on Channel 4 last week. Or more to the point, hands up if you're kicking yourself because you missed it ! You'll be pleased to know that you'll have a chance to win a copy on DVD in just a moment.

If you have no idea what I'm talking about, Run is a brand new hard-hitting drama from Channel 4, which was released on DVD by Delta Leisure on 22nd July 2013 following its screening on Channel 4 over four consecutive nights last week.

The official blurb says : "This dark and compelling drama boasts a stellar all-star cast alongside Olivia Colman (TwentyTwelve, The Accused), including Lennie James (Line of Duty, The Walking Dead), Jaime Winstone (Made In Dagenham, Kidulthood), Katie Leung (Harry Potter, White Swans) and Katharina Schuttler (The Promise) and paints a picture of modern-day urban life. Run is an original four-part drama that weaves together the stories of four seemingly unconnected people facing life-changing decisions in a world where every choice is a luxury."

The Times defined it as "bleak but compelling viewing" and having watched it, I agree wholeheartedly. It's very violent but that's necessary for the gritty realism it portrays. It goes beyond the scenes of thuggery though, showing the dysfunctional families and heartbreaking lifestories behind them. We see mothers trying to do the best for their children, women in abusive relationships, relationships disintegrating, shocking skeletons coming out of closets ... Each character's story is totally separate but they all echo each other in many ways.

If you want to see what you missed, I have one copy of the DVD to give away to one Madhouse family Reviews reader. Just fill in your details on the rafflecopter widget below to be in with a chance of winning.

UK only. Closing date : 18/8/13

T & C's : Entries close at midnight on the closing date. Winners will be selected with a random number generator and announced on facebook, twitter and in the giveaway post subject line. Please note, you will be contacted by email and/or twitter and if I haven't heard from you after a week, I'll have to pick another winner. Prizes will be sent out by the companies or their PR directly to winners.
