Download A Free Kids' Guide To British Hotspots

When planning what to do with the kids on holiday, I always try to get into their mindspace. What's interesting to a grown-up may be totally boring to a child and vice versa, so it's good to think about what will appeal to the kids to avoid boredom and its accompanying whingeing and playing-up ! Parkdean have come up with a free downloadable guide called "UK Our Way" which  is a guide to the top holiday hotspots in the UK as chosen by kids, for kids. Sounds like a great place to start when planning a UK break with the family.

The Votes are in on the UK’s Top Holiday Hot Spots for Kids

Roskilly’s Ice Cream Farm in Cornwall, Croyde Bay in Devon and Legoland in Windsor…these are just a few of the holiday gems to feature in a unique guide to the UK – put together for children, by children.

Launched this month, ‘The UK, Our Way’ holiday guide features a range of destinations and attractions that have been voted for by children as the nation’s top spots. So, whether you’re looking to find the tastiest fish and chips or the best place to fly a kite this summer, this handy pocket book promises to deliver a kids-eye view on the best places to be.

Developed by one of the UK’s largest holiday park operators, Parkdean, the guide is also packed with plenty of puzzles to keep kids busy on the road and a map and sticker set which allows families to create their very own log of favourite holiday hotspots.

The guide is available to download today from www.parkdean.com/ukourway and is split into six handy sections – Fantastic Food, Beach Fun, Outdoor Fun, Energetic Days, Making Memories plus Learning and Exploring – with topics including:
· Where to find the yummiest ice-cream
· The top beaches to go rock-pooling or crabbing
· Great places to get active
· The UK’s ultimate fun day out

John Waterworth, Chief Executive of Parkdean said: “Kids just want to have fun while on holiday or with the family and have a very strong view on what they like doing. So, we asked children and families across the UK to tell us what they like doing while enjoying a fun day out. We’ve used the feedback to create our handy holiday companion and we hope that this will inspire other families and their kids to make the most of some of the best spots and attractions the UK has to offer. “

“We’ve really enjoyed putting the ‘The UK Our Way’ guide together and we hope that it will soon be viewed as a go-to read for family fun days out and an essential for the travel bag. Throughout July and August we welcome around 50,000 families across our 24 holiday parks and, during this time, we hope to build on our findings even further by canvassing their views and experiences. Who knows, we might even launch a second edition of the guide at some point! ”

One the children who contributed to the guide, James Thwaites (age 6, from Cheshire), said: “I like Roskilly’s ice-cream because it’s lovely, nice and messy and yummy – try the strawberry flavour with the flake and sprinkles.”

Another contributor, Anthony White (age 11, from Mid Glamorgan) said: “I love this beach (Holywell Bay) because it has plenty of room to build sandcastles. The sand is wet so I can build the best ones.”
