Just Add herbs review

Ideally, I'd love to cook with fresh herbs all the time because you get a much more powerful and fresh flavour than when using the dried equivalents. Most of the time, that just isn't possible though, so the Just Add range of squeezy tubes and one-shot sachets is a happy medium. We received four tubes to try - Garlic, Basil, Chilli and Coriander - and I've been adding a little squeeze to loads of dishes when I fel they lack a little oomph. It's a great way of injecting some funky flavours without all the faff of chopping, cutting and deseeding.

A classic example is the Pork Pot Au Feu that I cooked in the slow cooker this week. I added a generous squeeze of basil, coriander and garlic which gave the sauce a really interesting, fresh flavour.

You can even see flecks of herbs in the finished dish. Everyone agreed that it took what could have been a very bland dish to a new level. They're so quick and simple to use that they're ideal for novice cooks who aren't sure how to handle fresh herbs or those in a rush to cook from scratch on a busy week night.

They are extremely versatile and Just Add have come up with a range of recipes that you can use them with - I'll post them in a minute in a separate blogpost.
