Kids' Kitchen Fun : Banana Splits

I mentioned to the Madhouse Mini-testers that I wanted to clear out my baking cupboards to make some space, using up as many almost-empty pots and bottles as possible, so they came up with the (rather good) idea of making banana splits.

We had a rummage and came up with everything we needed - bananas (obviously!), grapes, squirty cream, chocolate and strawberry ice cream sauce and hundreds and thousands.

I cut the bananas in half then let them get on with it, piling up the ingredients however they wanted. The end result was very messy but they declared it was the most delicious dessert ever and one that they definitely want to make again ! It does makes you wonder why you spend time concocting complicated desserts sometimes !
