Vertbaudet's Winter Clothing review

Baby it's cold outside - but Vertbaudet have come to the rescue, with a funky range of clothes guaranteed to keep out the winter chill. They sent us through this fabulous Brick Red parka (£45, available in sizes 2-7/8) for Pierre which is a beautiful orangey-red colour. It's labelled as 3-in-1 so I went to investigate and discovered that you can remove the hood, remove the faux fur lining or leave the hood and faux fur lining as it is in the photo. It also has a  pair of fleecy mittens attached with poppers to the coat (yay, no more mad searching for gloves before heading off to school every morning !). Two other child/parent-friendly features are that it has space to write your child's name on it and it has a reflective armband so your child will be easily seen in the dark. It's a lovely coat that is perfect for autumn and winter.

Juliette wasn't left out - she received this outfit, which is described as a Sand/Print 3-in-1 Convertible Dress (£29, size 2-13/14). I knew what a reversible dress was but the word convertible had me stumped.

It's actually quite clever - it can be worn as a dress or separated into a skirt and jumper, making it great value because you can wear it several ways, depending on the occasion or the season. (There are buttons holding it together as a dress.)

It's available in three colours - this taupe one but also pink and grey. The skirt would look great with opaque coloured tights or over leggings and the jumper looks good with jeans or skirts. The skirt has an elasticated and adjustable waistband.

One slight word of warning though - you may have noticed a distinct lack of photos of Pierre and Juliette posing in their new clothes. Well, I had a bit of a #mummyfail moment ! I always order at least the next size up when buying for the kids but in this case, the sizes are quite generous so they're much too big. It's not a problem, they'll come in next year, but be warned that if you're buying for right now, you should go for the actual size.
