The Very Hungry Caterpillar Toddler Books review

The Very Hungry Caterpillar's special 45th anniversary is drawing ever closer. The World of Eric Carle have confirmed that 20th March will be a day where all caterpillars will not only be celebrating the anniversary but also the start of Spring too!

We received some lovely toddler books to look at this month, The Very Hungry Caterpillar's Little Book and the Touch and Feel Playbook.

The Touch and Feel Playbook (RRP £8.99) is a large hardback book with lots of different colours, shapes and textures for little fingers to discover. There are simple words focusing on child-friendly concepts such as animal sounds, colours and the weather, all accompanied with colourful illustrations, and even a few flaps to lift too. Ask Pierre for a list of all his favourite things in a book and they're here ! This is a brilliant book for babies, toddlers and preschoolers and it's sturdy enough to put up with a lot of over enthusiastic page-turning and touchy-feely play, which is a good thing because this is a book that little readers will be constantly coming back to.

The Very Hungry Caterpillar's Little Book (RRP £4.99) is, as its name suggests, a small square board book. It features all of the different fruits that the hungry caterpillar eats his way through and is a great way of introducing numbers and colours. The big appeal here is that the cheeky caterpillar face that you can see is a plush finger puppet that you can push through the holes in the book. Great fun for little fingers (and slightly bigger fingers, judging by the reactions at The Madhouse !)

Keep an eye on the official twitter @WorldEricCarle and the World of Eric Carle facebook page to keep up to date with news of the #VHC45 celebrations. I'll also be back with more news nearer the big day.

Disclosure : We received the products in order to write an honest review.
