Hot Wheels Double Jump Duel track set review

You may remember that Pierre (with a little enthusiastic help from the girls, not to mention Madhouse Daddy !) has already been lucky enough to review a few products from the Hot Wheels range. Well, needless to say, he was over the moon to receive a new product to add to his collection, the Double Jump Duel race track.

It was actually simpler than it looked to put together, although I did have to follow the instructions to work out what went where.

I love the fact that the starting blocks use a trigger action to give momentum to the cars so you don't need batteries.

Pierre instantly understood the concept and set up the starting blocks then excitedly released the car. My one little niggle is that this is a double jump duel with twin tracks so you need to make two cars go head to head for maximum enjoyment but the box only contains one car. For Pierre, this wasn't a problem - he ran up to his room and came back clutching a collection of cars to try out - but it wouldn't have hurt them to add two cars to the box.

The cars don't always make it across the jump to the end of the track - even the official Hot Wheels car that came in the box - but I think that's a good thing because it makes it more exciting when it does work. If it had a 100% success rate, you wouldn't have the element of suspense and surprise.

Pierre was very impressed with the death-defying leap but equally impressed with the spectacular crashes !
