Here are some Moroccan goats that we saw on the way to Essaouira when we were staying in Agadir.
And this is an argan tree.
Now look closely at the tree.
Those cheeky goats love the fruit of the argan tree so much that they climb up the trees to eat them - the most intrepid ones will climb as high as six metres off the ground, according to our local guide !
He also said, with a laugh, that the argan oil that has become such a hugely popular ingredient in beauty and hair care products recently probably comes from the stones of the fruit that have been eaten by the goats and passed through them - yuck !
We still bought some argan oil though when we visited a local cooperative - Juliette even had a go at producing argan oil in the traditional way and said it was very hard work.
