Kids' app review : All Aboard the Ninky Nonk

P2 Entertainment have just released an In The Night Garden app for 1-4 year olds called All Aboard the Ninky Nonk and Pierre was delighted to get a code to review it.

The app includes five mini games/activities :

Igglepiggle’s Stepping Stones  - Help Igglepiggle jump across the stepping stones and see what funny noises you can find

Makka Pakka Face Wash - Wash the faces of Makka Pakka’s friends in the garden making lots of soap bubbles to pop!

Tombliboos Building Blocks - Join the Tombliboos and see if you can help them build a tower from a selection of colourful patterned building blocks

Upsy Daisy Colouring In - Use on-screen crayons and stamps to colour and fill in Upsy Daisy’s dress, decorating her with her bright colours and patterns

All Aboard the Ninky Nonk - on a journey through the hills of the garden to collect everyone’s favourite things

The activities are very very simple and repetitive but as it is targetting such young children, that is not necessarily a bad thing. I did find that the app was slow to charge, especially given how simple the games are, but this didn't seem to bother Pierre, as you can see.

It's not as impressive and varied as the other P2 Entertainment apps that we've reviewed in the past and that the Madhouse Mini-testers still come back to, months and months after downloading them, but for very young players, they will love discovering the magical world of In The Night Garden in app form. Older players will undoubtedly get bored of it quite quickly though.
