Summer-themed crafts with Yellow Moon

Yellow Moon recently sent us through a fabulous selection of summer-themed crafting supplies, which were perfect for keeping the Madhouse Mini-testers busy over half term, especially when the weather wasn't great (which, let's face it, was most of the time !). The box contained some castle card shapes to be coloured in, some make-your-own card clocks, some fun campervan stickers, some pull-back miniature cars with funky animal-print designs and some little project kits that I will tell you about below.

First of all, we discovered these little Seaside Gift Box Kits which are very simple to make. Rather than get out the glue, I decided to give them the sheet of Jewel Stickers that you can see in the top picture to customise them. I love the fact that these are individually wrapped, making them ideal for party bags.

Also in the individually wrapped kits category, there were these simple Football Keyring Kits - perfect for the run up to the World Cup.

Even 4-year-old Pierre managed, with a little help tying the knots.

This is a great little project that appeals to all ages and both sexes equally.

As there were four, they made one each and one for Madhouse Daddy for Father's Day.

Next, they excitedly discovered these cute Flip Flop Ceramic Trinket Boxes.

Rather than get messy with paints, I decided to get out the Giotto Metallic Deco Pens that we received in the last box and that we used to decorate ceramic tea-light holders.

The result was outstanding, particularly taking into account that these were done by a 9-year-old girl and a 4-year-old boy (although he'll be 5 next month - where is the time going ?!)

We've still got loads to keep us busy - I'll come back and show you our creations the next time we have a crafting session !
