Walkers Crisps have their 'Do Us A Flavour' finalists

Back in January 2014, Walkers launched their 'Do Us A Flavour' campaign and challenged crisp lovers around the country to suggest a brand new flavour for the chance to win £1million. Over 1.2m people across the UK took part and sent in suggestions.

Chief judges David Walliams and Marco Pierre White have now announced the six flavours that have been selected as finalists and it's fair to say that there are some surprises ! The six chosen flavours are:
Sizzling Steak Fajita by Jed Poole from London
Chip Shop Chicken Curry by Emma Garnett from Cardiff
Cheesy Beans on Toast by Emma Cooper from Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire
Hot Dog with Tomato Ketchup by Sarah Morgan from Bradford
Pulled Pork in a Sticky BBQ Sauce by Paul Rothwell from Westcliff-on-Sea, Essex
Ranch Raccoon by Robert Gibson from Harrogate

Raccoon flavoured crisps, I hear you cry? Is that even allowed? Well, defending his choice, Robert Gibson explained : “Ranch raccoon might sound a little off the wall but after working in catering to American troops, I knew that ranch flavours work really well with meat – and who hasn’t ever wanted to try raccoon? I knew that Cajun Squirrel was a popular choice last year and as the public are getting more experimental with their tastes, I thought I’d take it forward”.

Hmmm not sure I'd want to eat real raccoon but the crisps taste a lot like roast chicken flavour crisps and are very nice. My personal favourite is Cheesy Beans on Toast though - the ultimate childhood comfort food and quintessentially British to boot.

All six flavours are on the supermarket shelves now so you can try them all and cast your vote. Voting opened on 21st July and closes on 17th October 2014 so get munching and tell me what you think, whether you love or hate them !
