Sylvanian Families Forest Nursery review

Whatever your age, there's something special about Sylvanian Families that means you can't help but go awww when you see the cute little animals in their humanised settings. We were therefore very pleased to receive a Sylvanian Families Forest Nursery to review. It comes with a piano and stool, some little toys and a swing. The little animals can also climb up on the roof and pop their heads through the holes in the trees, so there are lots of opportunities for making up fun stories.

We also received a Hamster Family, consisting of the father, Huckleberry Hamilton, the mother, Hilda Hamilton, and the children, Jane and George Hamilton, as well as a Chocolate Rabbit Brother set, with Coco the Chocolate Rabbit Boy with bathroom and accessories.

The Forest Nursery playset comes with a little storybook, which is a nice touch for helping to inspire children's imaginations for creative play. I read it to Pierre as Juliette and Madhouse Nanny set up the playset, sticking on the stickers and putting things in place, then they started acting out the story from the book before making up their own adventures.

Juliette unpacked the buildings and furniture.

While I helped Pierre press out the paper pieces, which needed to be folded to create little cubes and books for the nursery.

He instantly started making the little hamster family talk.

And he loved putting on the little paper headdresses from the press-out sheet.

Madhouse Nanny has a bit of a soft spot for Sylvanian Families so she was soon called in for reinforcements.

It looks great with all the stickers added and the extra Sylvanian Families members brought in to play. Perfect for whiling away a wet afternoon.

  1. My 11 yo daughter loves Sylvanian families. I expect to see this on her Christmas list later this year. It is one of those toys that last. We often buy the small sets as presents for her friends at party time. They always go down well even if they do not already have some. Even my 9 yo son loves playing with them.
