Madhouse diaries : Dunkirk's Christmas Decorations

Today we headed into the town centre to check out the Christmas display. We have a new mayor and things have been scaled back - no Christmas market and no free skating rink this year - but they have kept the Enchanted Village, which is still a lovely place to take the kids.

The town square has been transformed into a forest of Christmas trees which wind you around a path to uncover a number of wooden chalets, each one home to some animated toys.

It's always exciting for the kids (oh ok, and for the parents !)  to see what is waiting around each corner. Here is the ticketmaster at the station.

This looks like the Three Bears but where is Goldilocks ?

The Miller in the windmill.

A Christmassy wedding at the teddy bears' town hall.

The classroom with a paper aeroplane whizzing around !

A carpenter's workshop.

A puppet show with a very attentive audience.

The clockmaker's workshop.

And to finish off, a bell-ringing monk in a belfry.

Hang on tight !

There is also Father Christmas in an inflatable igloo but the queue was enormous so we'll come back another day to see him !

  2. This looks like loads of fun, it's a shame that all the festivities have been scaled back but it still looks like a brilliant evening out. Thanks for linking up with Country Kids.
