Globecooking recipe : Pansters (Canada)

There are so quick and simple but it's something I'd never thought of making before - American-style pancakes sandwiched together with a chocolate filling.

The recipe was in my Canadian-themed Kitchen Trotter box and used a box of pancake and waffle mix. You could make your own pancake mix from scratch though.

For us, it was a case of whisking together the pancake mix, 3 eggs, some melted butter and some milk.

If you want to make pancakes from scratch, just whisk together 250g flour, 3 eggs, 30g melted butter and 500ml milk.

You could make them in a frying pan but I pulled out our Smiley Pancake Maker which was absolutely perfect because they all came out identically sized.

Leave them on a wire rack until they are totally cooled.

The recipe suggested making a ganache by mixing 180g dark chocolate with 180g warmed liquid crème fraîche but I decided to use a tub of Betty Crocker Chocolate Fudge Frosting that was sitting in the cupboard.

Pierre had great fun sandwiching them all together.

And even more fun eating them. He's been poorly for the last few days and totally off his food but he managed to eat three of these in one sitting !

  1. So cute! I guess Nutella will work well too. I'd be happy with choccie pancakes as well
