It's been a PG kinda week ! (review)

It started off with the Patience Game, waiting for Princess Gorgeous to arrive. My daughter absolutely wanted her to be named Peppa so that we could have Peppa & George as royal siblings ! Little George was the Perfect Gentleman when he visited his baby sister, waving at the crowd like a pro, and Kate and Wills had a moment of Parental Genius when choosing the name Charlotte Elizabeth Diana, keeping grandad and great grandma happy while paying their respects to Diana !

In other news, I also received some PG Tips 240s to try out. All my royal baby PGs in the first paragraph made me wonder what the PG in PG Tips actually stands for so I went to find out - it turns out it was originally named ‘Pre-Gest-Tea’, suggesting that the tea could be drunk before food was digested. Hmmm I'm glad they shortened it to PG !

So what did we think of the tea? It's Perfectly Great ! (Sorry !) As soon as you open the box, you get a strong smell of fresh tea, not cardboard box, as is sometimes the case with own label cheap teas. As soon as you put the funky pyramid-shaped teabag in hot water, you see a burst of brown leaking into the water. The pyramid shape is supposed to act as a mini teapot, allowing a stronger taste to develop and they do seem to work. (You can get the same effect by pressing a regular square teabag against the side of the cup but this requires less effort.) It provides a lovely rich colour and a lovely rich taste - what more could you want from a tea bag ?!

Oh, you do want more ?! Well, apparently PG tips is proud to be the first major UK tea brand with fully Rainforest Alliance certified tea for both black and green teas. Fancy a cuppa ?!

  1. I don't drink tea as it is one of the few things I don't like, but my husband drinks no end of it (more than makes up for me). He has tried many different brands, mainly trying to find a cheaper version that he likes as much as PG. Nothing comes close, it is always PG.
