Picture book review : Nanny Fox and the Three Little Pigs - Georgie Adams & Selina Young

Nanny Fox and the Three Little Pigs is an enchanting story about not conforming and not being confined by your family's or society's expectations.

Nanny Fox is a gentle, kind, child-minding fox called Arnold - yes, he's a boy fox. More mould-breaking !

He looks after the chicks and piglets at the farm, dressing up as the big bad wolf to act out the story of the three little pigs. The Madhouse kids loved this story within a story.

Nanny Fox's family aren't so nice though and they decide to dress up as Santa and his reindeer to take away the hens and gobble them up. Arnold saves the day, chasing them away in his scary big bad wolf mask.

It's a fun, untraditional story that can be enjoyed on Christmas Eve (although we still loved it in the middle of summer !)
