Madhouse recipe : Mustard & Maple Chicken

A little while ago, I went browsing through some new (to me) blogs, looking for some inspiration for simple family-friendly dinners that used things I already had in the cupboard. One that caught my eye was Desperation Chicken from the Granny Fabulosa blog.

I just happened to have everything I needed in the cupboards so I gave it a go - it reminded me very much of Maille Honey Mustard and was great for a quick meal.

Mustard & Maple Chicken

ingredients :

4 chicken breasts
1/2 cup American yellow mustard (ie very mild mustard)
1/4 cup maple syrup
1tbsp white wine vinegar
sprinkle of herbs

Mix up the mustard, vinegar and maple syrup.

Put the chicken in an ovenproof dish and pour over the sauce. Sprinkle with herbs. Bake at 180° for 30-40 minutes until the chicken is cooked through.

That's it ! Pierre was impressed because he said it tasted of a McDonald's cheeseburger - I know what he means, it's the taste of the mustard which has been renamed McDonald's mustard in our house !

Adding to this month's #KitchenClearout because it helped use up some of the mustard which has been lingering in the fridge for far too long !
