The Secret of Nim's ! (Fruit Crisps review)

Air dried fruit crisps seem to be the in-snack at the moment so I was very pleased when Nim's sent us over a selection of their healthy snacks to try out. They are the original fruit crisp and were launched all the way back in 2011 by Nimisha Raja, a health conscious mum who wanted to create a healthy product that would appeal as much to her as her daughter.

The fruit crisps come in four flavours:  Pear & Kiwi, Orange & Melon, Apple and Pineapple & Mango. The bags contain 100% fruit and also 100% of the fruit, including skin, core and pips. The air-dried texture is chewy and slightly crispy and it has a really vibrant, natural, fresh taste. The unique air-drying process maintains as much nutritional content, natural sweetness and brightness of colour as possible. I was actually pleasantly surprised - they are much nicer than I expected and the Madhouse kids agreed with me.

Each bag of Nim’s Fruit Crisps is high in fibre and vitamin C and only contains 57-75 calories. It's refreshing to find a tasty snack that has almost all green in the nutritional wheel on the packaging - the yellow is for sugars, and that's all natural sugar from the fruit. The crisps are fat, dairy and gluten-free, suitable for vegetarians and vegans and count towards your five-a-day. They are pricier than many snacks on the supermarket shelves but I'd be prepared to pay a bit more for a healty, guilt-free option for me or the kids as a special treat.
