I'm not actually sure if those ones were for sale - they were outside of a big souvenir shop that sold loads of the little ones. The bigger ones are a tad creepy !
those trolls are extremely ugly, I can't imagine why anyone would buy them. I'd much rather have the cute kind with neon hair, but maybe Norwegians think those are not genuine trolls?
The traditional Scandinavian trolls are supposed to be ugly, that's the whole point :) They're cute too though - they come dressed up as everything from fishermen to Vikings and everything in between. The cheap plastic ones with neon hair were probably inspired by the traditional ones but made more kid-friendly ... as is the way with most fairy stories, that are watered down versions of the original folk tales :)
Very cute trolls! The top ones do look creepy, don't think I'd want them in the house or garden either.
