What's Cooking at The Madhouse? menu plan 2018 week #27

This is the last week at school - yay ! - so I'll need to start thinking up lunches as well as evening meals soon. It's also incredibly hot so I'm planning nibbly things out of the freezer that require minimum cooking and can be changed at the last minute because nobody really wants big meals in this heat. Yesterday, I'd planned a Sunday roast but in the end, we had melon followed by grilled sausages and salads, as requested by the kids !

Monday

lunch - leftover cooked sausages, peppers, onions, mushrooms, all chopped up, stir fried together and served with rice

dinner - grilled salmon for me, chicken strips for the kids, with boiled potatoes and green beans

Tuesday

lunch - school canteen

dinner - I need something quick because the teachers are having farewell drinks for those moving on to a new school - there's a Hawaiian pizza in the freezer (Juliette's favourite) which will be perfect, and the kids can even cook it themselves before I get home if they're too hungry !

Wednesday

lunch - beefburgers, onion rings & mash

dinner - Southern-"fried" (baked) chicken with mac & cheese

Thursday

lunch -  school canteen

dinner - chicken with a mild curry sauce (either tikka masala or korma) & rice

Friday

lunch - end of term BBQ at school

dinner - pork stew with spaghetti

Saturday

lunch - kids' choice : probably McDonalds or KFC

dinner - fridge grazing - quiche, salads (potato salad, coleslaw, carrot salad), cherry tomatoes, crisps

Sunday

lunch - not sure - chicken cordon bleu with crispy potato balls maybe but there may be leftovers

dinner - with the Madhouse grandparents :)

  1. Ahh! We have an easy week of meals planned too. It's far too hot to spend a lot of time cooking!
I hope you all have a great last week at school. We still have 3 weeks left. Ugh! We're ready for the holidays now.
