Giveaway #699 : Win a John Adams’ heritage game for National Grandparents Day - closed - winner Steve N Caz Champion

Did you know that it's National Grandparents' Day on 7th October? The perfect day for showing your Nanny and Grandad how much they mean to you ! Hmmm, that sounds like a great idea, but what can you do to show your grandparents how much you care about them? Buy some violet-scented talcum powder and some fluffy slippers? Take them out for a meal? Well, how about spending some quality time together, along with some of John Adams’ range of heritage games ? In their collection, you'll find the ones we all played with our own mums and dads many years ago, or maybe that you or the kids play together. We love board gaming with our whole family, and the kids love it when the grandparents get involved too, so how about trying some of these?

Rummikub (for 2-4 players, usually £34.99 but currently selling for £18.99 on amazon) is played with 106 tiles, numbered 1 to 13 in 4 different colours. The object of the game is to be the first player to clear your rack of all tiles and shout "Rummikub". Lay down sets of "groups" (three or four tiles of the same number but different colour) or "runs" (three or more consecutive numbers of the same colour) to achieve your goal.

Triominos (for 2-4 players, £22.99) is the fascinating game variation of the well-known game of dominos but with triangular pieces. Every Triomino is unique because it only occurs once in the game so it must be used wisely to gain an extra score. Who can score the highest number of points to be the winner? Bonus points can be won by laying your pieces and making a 'bridge', a 'hexagon' or a 'double hexagon'.

Othello (for 2 players, usually £33.99, currently £19.38 on amazon) is branded as taking a minute to learn....a lifetime to master ! The aim is to trap and capture your opponent by placing your disks on the board. "Sandwich" at least one of your opponent's pieces to swap colours….but look out, your opponent will do the same to you ! The lead can change with a flip of a disk in this classic fast paced strategy game.
