These are the first kiddie vitamins that we've been sent for review that you really could pass off as sweets. We've tried others that had the great taste and the fun shape, but the fact that they come in a big plastic childproof-capped tub marked them out as "medicine" as opposed to sweets (which could be a good or bad thing ,depending on your point of view). These Fitvits Multivitamin Gummy Bears come in tiny little individual sachets though, which look just like a mini bag of Haribo jelly sweets, and they taste exactly like sweets too.
I can always tell when a company has got the taste just right for their vitamins because the girls come and ask me if they can have some when I forget to dole them out, and they have been asking for these ones every single day ! The great thing with the little sachets (each containing the daily dose of 5 mini gummies) is that you can pop them in their lunchbox or keep some in your bag as a treat on the go, in place of the usual sweets.
The cute little gummies may taste just like fruity sweets but they contain Vitamins A,C,D,E & B12 and provide nutritional support for healthy growth and development. According to medical research by Great Ormond Street Hospital, 20% of under five-year-olds are picky about their food and the problem can persist well into their teens and sometimes into adulthood, so finding a multivitamin that the kids actually love eating is definitely a bonus.
Another plus point for Fitvits is that they have pledged their allegiance to KidsAid, a charity working to help children overcome traumatic events, so for every pack of Fitvits sold, a donation is made to KidsAid (10p per month pack, 5p per trial pack), which helps to fund their vital work with vulnerable children and their families.
As well as the Multivitamin Gummy Bears that we tried out, Fitvits also produce Omega 3 Gummy Sharks, which have been developed to make the essential fish oils more palatable and come in two tangy flavours, Orange and Lemon which contain Omega 3, as well as Vitamins A,C,D & E. Definitely worth a try too !
