Relive your summer memories with a Harveys Half Hour this autumn

I thought this fitted in perfectly with the review (here) for the Italian and Spanish-inspired meats from unearthed that I posted earlier. Enjoy !

More British families escape on holiday to Spain than anywhere else in the world and with its fantastic weather, vibrant culture and chance to take a guilt free siesta in the middle of the day there is little wonder. As the days get cooler and summer starts to feel like a distant memory, recreate that holiday feeling by taking a Harveys Half Hour courtesy of the UK’s favourite sherry and enjoy a classic Spanish tipple.

Whether it’s half an hour flicking through memorable holiday snaps, strolling through the countryside picking seasonal berries from the hedgerows or spending time in the kitchen to make some apple chutney or brew some sloe gin, take some ‘me time’ just for you and relax.

The award-winning Harveys Fino is a refreshingly crisp and bone dry Spanish sherry with a characteristically pale straw colour and alluring almond aroma. It can be enjoyed simply chilled in a wine glass, or is delicious combined with a seasonal sloe berry gin in a ‘Sloe boat to Jerez’ cocktail to help you rediscover those Iberian climes.

Harveys ‘Sloe boat to Jerez’

25ml Harveys Fino
25ml sloe gin
20ml fresh lemon juice
5ml sugar syrup
50ml soda water
Wedge of lemon

Add all the ingredients, except the sloe gin, into a highball glass filled with ice and stir gently. Slowly pour over the sloe gin so the bright colour trickles down the glass and infuses the cocktail.

Harveys Fino (50cl RRP £7.52) is available from Waitrose, Booths, Morrisons and other selected retailers.
