Mike the Knight (and his catchphrase "Be a Knight - Do it Right") may not have been on our screens all that long but he has been well and truly adopted here at The Madhouse. Pierre loves the stories, full of dragons, Vikings, trolls and castles and I love the life lessons they represent so it's happy smiles all round. When we were asked if we'd like to review some Mike the Knight clothing from Tesco, we jumped at the chance.
When this funky blue and red polo shirt arrived, I showed it to Pierre who made appreciative noises then went to let the dogs out. On my return, he'd already pulled off the t-shirt he was wearing, ripped the tag off and started putting on his new Mike the Knight polo shirt ! The only bit he couldn't manage all by himself was the little buttons so he couldn't get his head all the way through the hole until I came and rescued him (with a laughing cry of "Be a Big Boy - Do it Right" !
He proudly paraded around the living room, even venturing out on to the balcony so that he could show his new shirt to the passers-by too ! As well as the bright colours, the contrasting yellow buttons, the big Mike the Knight picture and the funky lettering, this is hugely appealing to little lads.
It's made of 100% cotton and feels very soft. The buttons are securely sewn on (as proved by Pierre trying to force his head through without undoing them !) and, although I'm sure the applique will eventually show signs of wear and tear, it's been through the washing machine (but not the tumble drier) a few times and has come out in pristine condition.
I was impressed to see that the Mike the Knight range is available in Tesco. The clothing range includes T-shirts, socks, pyjamas and pants - perfect for encouraging young fans to start potty-training.
