Weight Watchers Crisps review

If you're anything like me, your biggest downfall when you're trying to lose weight is giving in to cravings for unhealthy snacks like cake, crisps or chocolate. Well, fear not ! I think I've found the perfect solution, in the latest hamper of goodies that Weight Watchers sent through. Not only did it contain utterly scrumptious Carrot Cakes and Chocolate Digestives, it even had crisps ! Yes, really !

I first tried Weight Watchers Salt & Vinegar Crinkle Crisps which contain an amazingly low 2 ProPoints per 16g bag. That may not sound much - and it is certainly smaller than a normal bag of crisps - but it's enough to satisfy any crisp cravings you may have and is the perfect size for a portion controlled picnic or packed lunch. Taste-wise, they're lovely and the texture is perfectly crunchy. In fact, the kids loved them so much, I had to hide them in the bedroom before they ate the lot ! Each pack contains 74 calories, 3.5g of fat of which 0.4g saturates and 0.3g of salt. The back of the pack reveals that they are made with natural flavourings and colours, contain no artificial preservatives and have at least 30% less fat than standard crinkle cut crisps. For just 2 ProPoints, they're perfect for guilt-free snacking when you fancy a special treat.

Next up were the Nacho Cheese Tortillas, which also contain 2 ProPoints per 18g bag. I love the tangy cheese flavour but I wouldn't have called them tortillas because they don't have the wheaty taste that that suggests to me - texture wise, they are more like regular corn chips. They are very nice though. Each 18g pack contains 83 calories, 3.3g of fat of which 0.5g saturates and 0.4g of salt. They contain no artificial flavourings or preservatives and again have at least 30% less fat than standard flavoured tortilla corn chips.

I honestly think that giving in to your cravings with a sensible, portion/calorie-controlled treat is an important part of trying to lose weight so these Weight Watchers snacks are absolutely ideal. They're really tasty and satisfying and won't give you a nasty shock when you track your ProPoints. The fact that they come in multipacks of 5 bags is very convenient too, especially if you have kids in the house who will want to eat them too !

  1. I love salt and vinegar crisps so anything that makes them more healthy has to be a good thing. Although knowing me, I'd end up eating even more of them!

  3. I quite simply loved the the ww snack cakes that were available back in 2009-2010. The chocolate had chocolate filling, and the lemon had no filling. They were great enough to pair with fat-free frozen vanilla yogurt. Now they are more like treats for children, and of course the cream filling minimizes the cake flavor. I’ve been so disappointed about this for years, with no platform to voice it. An additional disappointment is that ww foods are much difficult to find in the grocery market. Everything must be ordered. The wait doesn’t help members that want to satisfy a craving with a weight watchers alternative.
