Green Science Green Rocket kit !

I couldn't wait to discover this one. The Great Gizmos range of kid-friendly science kits are endorsed by the Science Museum so they're sure to combine fun with learning. I tipped out the contents to see what you actually get in the box and discovered : 1 Stand Arm, 1 Launch Tube, 1 Flexible Pipe, 2 Bottle Connector Halves, 2 Pipe Clamp Halves, 2 Foam Rocket Heads, 12 Fin Templates, 2 Rocket Templates, 3 Screws, 1 Set Small Nuts and Bolts, 1 Set Large Nuts, Bolts, Washer and Split Washer, 1 Double Sided Adhesive Tape and a full instruction guide with fun facts. You may be thinking that it looks nothing like a rocket - well, you also need to go scavenging in the recycling box and add two drinks bottles and an old magazine.

The kit allows you to create a rather fabulous rocket that will launch up to 25m in the air - I'm gutted to say, it's been so wet and windy that we haven't had a chance to test it out yet but I think I'm as excited as the kids so we will definitely be giving it a go as soon as the weather calms down ! Sophie has already read the instruction booklet and asked various questions about the science behind it so it's obviously very appealing to her age group (she's 11), although I know the younger Madhouse Mini-testers are excited about making it fly too, even if they don't care about the physics !

star rating : 4.5/5

RRP : £9.99
