You may remember me telling you about our urban adventure at the start of the week, which included a picnic lunch in the woods. I decided to make the sandwich element of the meal a bit more exciting by using these WeightWatchers wraps that we'd been sent to review.
For the Madhouse Mini-testers, I made sandwushi - that's what we call the sandwich version of sushi ! I put cheese spread (to help hold it all together), ham and grated cheese over the whole surface of the wrap then rolled it up, using cocktail sticks to keep it in place. I made a salad and ham wrap for me and that worked well too.
We had frozen and defrosted our wraps and they came back to perfect condition. We also ate fajitas in the week using regular wraps and nobody could tell the difference between the diet-conscious WeightWatchers version and the normal ones. In fact, I used up the lone leftover WeightWatchers wrap and it was still in perfect condition, despite having sat in the opened pack for a couple of days.
As picnic food, they work really well because they don't get squashed or go soggy like sliced bread, so they'd be ideal for packed lunches too. The kids loved the fun appearance of the sandwushi and ate up every scrap - the only "bad" thing was that this meant there were no leftover bits to feed the ducks !
Each wrap contains 107 calories, 21g of carbs (of which 1g of sugar), 1g of fat, 3g of fibre and 3 ProPoints. They are advertised as offering "all the flavour of white wraps with the fibre levels of wholemeal wraps" which is great news.
