Vue are currently trialling five new flavours of gourmet popcorn in selected cinemas across the country, with the choice of :
- Fruits of the Forest
- Salt & Vinegar
- Sweet N’ Salt
- Coconut Toffee
- Chilli & Lime
We received three of the flavours to try out, much to the Madhouse Mini Testers' delight !
Juliette opted for the Fruits of the Forest flavour. We love both sweet and salty popcorn here at The Madhouse but I couldn't imagine how fruity popcorn would work.
We peered in the bag and were surprised to see red popcorn, which seemed even more weird !
It's actually utterly delicious though. It's generously glazed in a sweet, fruity topping that works really well. It's very nice and strangely moreish.
Sophie chose the intriguing combination of Coconut Toffee. It has a less surprising colour and has a delicious but less full-on flavour than the Fruits of the Forest, which ended up being our favourite.
The Salt & Vinegar one ended up being taken to a school picnic by Sophie who said that it was very nice but it seemed weird eating popcorn that tasted like crisps !
When I first saw the flavours on offer, I had a moment of doubt, but they all got a resounding and unanimous thumbs-up.
