This week, the scales flashed up 88.8kg - a no-change - which I suppose, given the time of the month, is good enough. There was however a big change in the mentality/motivation stakes ... I went out for a run with Sophie !
It was actually really hard. Although I can easily jog along for half an hour on the Wii Fit with no breaks for what is (apparently) a more than 5k run, actualy getting outside and jogging for real was a whole different ball game. We walked to a local park and decided to go round the lake, jogging to one bench then walking to the next alternately. Those short bursts of a minute at a time were harder than it sounds ! We walked more than we jogged and laughed even more than that because we ended up stalking a geocacher (we knew where all the caches were so every time he disappeared, we knew where he'd pop back up again !). Hopefully, we'll keep this going and get better in the endurance stakes - I'll start up on the Wii Fit again too to build up stamina. Watch this space !
Positives of the week
- We went for a run and it was fun - win-win !

Weigh-in tomorrow, I'll keep you posted.
DeleteWell done on going for a run. I'm not there yet (too embarrassed for now) but I do think I'd enjoy running when I've lost a bit more weight.
ReplyDeleteGood luck for next week xx
Maybe start off with the wii fit? Although I think everyone's too worried about their own wobbly bits to look at anyone else's !! ;-)
DeleteAwww so glad you have got out for a run chick! Running outside is so much different to running indoors or on a treadmill, took me a while to get used to it - interval training is definitely the best way forward - your heart rate is up and down and working harder! Hope you are having a good week chick - you can do it! :) Sim xx
ReplyDeleteIt certainy is ! I can feel muscles I don't usually feel too (below my boobs ?!!) so it must be doing something ! lol
DeleteWell done you for going for a jog! I'm getting out of puff just walking up the hill where we're staying at the moment, the walk seems to be getting harder not easier! lol!
ReplyDeleteHope next week sees your hard work pay off.
I hope so too ! Thanks for linking up xx
DeleteThank you for this post, Cheryl - it made me see a new way forward for this week so I blogged about you :) Special Teaching at Pempi’s Palace

DeleteWell done on the motivation and going for a jog. I have never been a runner but did start last year and had to stop because of shin splints. Thank you for joining in with #Slimmerseeker, the linky will be live again tomorrow x
ReplyDeleteThanks - I never thought I'd see the day when I went out running, even if I did get quite good on the wii fit ! I'll link up again tomorrow
