I love all Organix products on principle, because of their No Junk promise (no added salt, sugar, artificial colours or flavours) and their totally organic and healthy ingredients, so I was keen to see what 2-year-old Pierre would make of their new Tomato & Carrot Veg & Oat Bar toddler snacks. They look just like a savoury flapjack or cereal bar. Interesting concept.
Organix explain : "Dried tomato and carrot juice concentrate are combined with the goodness of wholegrain oats and gently baked into a soft bar to create the delicious savoury taste. Veg & Oat Bars are a perfect anytime snack - convenient for popping in mum’s bag whilst out and about."
Well, Pierre got down to tasting and looked slightly confused, because I think he was expecting something sweet, but then polished off the whole bar. Big sisters Sophie and Juliette (aged 7 and 10) asked if they could try them too and said "oooh they taste like pizza ... or pizza flavoured crisps" ! (Which left me wondering, do pizza-flavoured crisps even exist ?!)
They're great as healthy snacks on the go for kids of all ages and make a nice change to the usual sweet cereal bar options. The bars are part of the new Goodies Savouries range which also includes Cheese & Herb Puffs, Carrot Stix, Spicy Tomato Stars, Tomato, Cheese & Herb Puffs and Saucy Tomato Noughts & Crosses tasty corn snacks. A box contains six 25g bars and costs £2.49.
If you want to give them a try, watch this space - I'll have a giveaway where you can win a box in a moment.
